Another hard day's night
The phone doesn't ring anymore
Stayin' all alone
In my office on the second floor
Scrollin' profiles on a dating site
In the glow of a laptop light
I've done so well I've come this far
But why do I have to pay with an empty heart
I need a little love
Someone to lift me up
Someone who makes my heart beat fast
With a burning hug
An’ just a little love
A couple of sweet kisses will make me feel alright
I need a little loving tonight
It's eleven p.m.
I turn on the washing machine
Days are never to long
For a single mother of three
I feel I'm fairly overdue
For somebodies arms to fall into
I need a little love
Someone to lift me up
Someone who makes my heart beat fast
With a burning hug
An’ just a little love
A couple of sweet kisses will make me feel alright
I need a little loving tonight
Maybe I'm strong
Maybe I'll get it all done
But for now I need a shoulder to lean on
I need a little love
Someone to lift me up
Someone who makes my heart beat fast
With a burning hug
An’ just a little love
A couple of sweet kisses will make me feel alright
I need a little loving tonight

You were the girl who had the curly hair
Those gentle hands and lips so sugar-sweet
I knew before the end of my senior year
You were the lover I would marry in my dreams
Until the news said you were missing
and you were never found
My missing girl
My vanished fantasy
Forever there will be
A burning in my life
This constant thorn
In my ever-bleeding heart
We live worlds apart
And no one can make it right
Anymore
I later got a wife, she kept me as a souvenir
Till the passion of a weekend barbecue
The guests went home and left us all alone
And then she found your picture and the truth
The truth that I'm still
still in love with you
My missing girl
My vanished fantasy
Forever there will be
A burning in my life
This constant thorn
In my ever-bleeding heart
We live worlds apart
And no one can make it right
Anymore
The day I die I hope to find your soul
Somewhere on the other side
Then we'll hold hands like we did before
And your heart will be forever mine
And I’ll give you all the love
I've saved up all my life
My missing girl
My vanished fantasy
Forever there will be
A burning in my life
This constant thorn
In my ever-bleeding heart
We live worlds apart
And no one can make it right
My missing girl
My vanished fantasy
Forever there will be
A burning in my life
This constant thorn
In my ever-bleeding heart
We live worlds apart
And no one can make it right
Anymore

She‘s a daughter of thunder
Wildfire flaming in her eyes
A can‘t get enough hunter
A sweet demon in a hot angels disguise
Take care if you gonna find a place beside her
She will never be your shotgun rider
She drives her own truck
Fueled by desire
She's ready to rock you
To set you on fire
She lays down the laws
Knows what she wants
She ain‘t shy of anything but
She drives her own truck
You should better take cover
When she starts making eyes on you
She’s a dangerous lover
Braking your heart the first rendezvous
She don’t mind telling you this right away
She’s not the one to catch the brides bouquet
She drives her own truck
Fueled by desire
She's ready to rock you
To set you on fire
She lays down the laws
Knows what she wants
She ain‘t shy of anything but
She drives her own truck
Don't dig for love, don't fall into
She knows a hundred ways to make a fool of you
She drives her own truck
Pedal to the metal
She knows what she’s got
This long legged devil
No way to go
You can't say no
She’s your biggest mistake, so what?
She drives her own truck
Fueled by desire
She's ready to rock you
To set you on fire
She lays down the laws
Knows what she wants
She ain‘t shy of anything but
She drives her own truck
Pedal to the metal
Look what she's got
This long legged devil
She drives her own truck
She drives her own truck
Look what she's got
So what?

Driving down the coastal highway
Wind is playing in your hair
Salty scents of ocean floating in the air
It never felt so right, I never felt so free
With you here by my side smiling brightly at me
Oh loving you is so much fun
I feel blessed and kissed by the sun
Cause I’m sharing those moments those moments with you
Red skies turning to indigo
The moon and the stars come shining through
When I’m sharing those moments those moments with you
Uhuhuhu all my dreams come true
I'm sharing those moments with you
The ocean smooth as glass reflections of a lighthouse light
And on your skin the taste of a sultry southern night
Bonfires on the beach fireworks in my head
No need for satin sheets in our sandy king-size bed
It’s so beautiful it hurts
I cannot put it into words
Cause I’m sharing those moments those moments with you
Red skies turning to indigo
The moon and the stars come shining through
When I am sharing those moments those moments with you
Uhuhuhu all my dreams come true
I'm sharing those moments with you
One rainy April day a little girl was born
She gives us a feeling so grateful and warm
When she’s showing us her smile
The world stops turning for a while
And I am sharing those moments those moments with you
Life is turning into something new
When you look into her eyes you see the sun shining through
And I’m sharing those moments those moments with you
Uhhuhuhu all my dreams come true
I'm sharing those moments with you
Uhhuhuhu all my dreams come true
I’m sharing my life and those moment with you

Can you recall the time summer 79
When we had our very first date
Our hearts beating fast and it felt like a blast
That sweet sweet kiss by the lake
Oh Joanne
Life was a playground back then
With our heads in the clouds
Dancing feet on the ground
Why can't it be like that again
Oh Joanne
We had such a good time back then
Do you remember that friendly bartender
Refilled our glasses when money was tight
The juke box was playing and I heard you saying
I ain't going home without you tonight
Oh Joanne
Life was a playground back then
With our heads in the clouds
Dancing feet on the ground
Why can't it be like that again
Oh Joanne
We had such a good time back then
Do you remember that rainy September
We spent in that cabin down at the beach
Nothing to do just me and you
Loving and laughing between the sheets
Oh Joanne
Life was a playground back then
With our heads in the clouds
Dancing feet on the ground
Why can't it be like that again
Oh Joanne
We had such a good time back then
Now the lord is calling your name
Not for long and he will ease your pain
We had it all I got no complains
Oh Joanne
Life was a playground back then
With our heads in the clouds
Dancing feet on the ground
Why can't it be like that again
Oh Joanne
We had such a good time back then
Oh JoanneI'd live our life all over again

I guess you saw this moment coming
All the things I'd been up to
But I never felt like painting fences
Never felt at home here like you do
An inner voice calling me to ramble
To face my fate somewhere out there
To leave this two-lane town behind me
I don't mean to hurt you
Forgive me my dear
Oh you know it I know
I'm not meant for a house in a row
Woh-oh-ooh let go let me go
Don't say you love me
Take back that latch-key
Delete me from your phone
The nasty cold winds of Chicago
If I can't stand them anymore
And if my dreams don’t turn out right
I don‘t expect an open door
Oh you know it I know
I'm not meant for a house in a row
Woh-oh-ooh let go let me go
Don't say you love me
Take back that latch-key
Delete from your phone
I hope you'll find someone to hold on
Who prunes back the hedge and trees
Someone who loves you more than I do
Who makes you forget me
Forget me please
Oh you know it I know
I'm not meant for a house in a row
Woh-oh-ooh let go let me go
Don't say you love me
Take back that latch-key
Delete me from your phone
Back You Up

When you reach for higher ground
But sweet weakness drags you down
I will get my flag out and cheer for you
When every effort seems in vain
And there‘s no rainbow only rain
I‘ll share with you the pain
And dive in too
When you're lyin' in the bathtub cryin'
With a bottle of Gray Goose
I'll back you up
When no-one else will fight beside you
I'll keep you safe in the lowest place you find yourself
No matter how deep the swamp we have to wade through
However long it takes to help your dreams come true
I'll be your tailwind when you're running out of luck
I will always back you up
When you make the same mistake
A second time and call it fate
I haven't much to say but will know better
When you‘re acting like a fool
And so-called friends make fun of you
I will be your parachute
We’ll stick together
When you lose control and bare your soul
With the whole world watchin'
I'll back you up
When no-one else will fight beside you
I'll keep you safe in the lowest place you find yourself
No matter how deep the swamp we have to wade through
However long it takes to help your dreams come true
I’ll be tailwind when you're running out of luck
I will always back you up
When your peers admire you
And you can‘t deal with your success
When you choose the wrong tattoos
And gonna ride the coke express
When you‘re the last guest of the party
And no one‘s left to take you home
I’m your one-man army
I will never let you down
I'll back you up
When no-one else will fight beside you
I'll keep you safe in the lowest place you find yourself
No matter how deep the swamp we have to wade through
However long it takes to help your dreams come true
I’ll be your tailwind when you're running out of luck
I will always back you up
I will always back you up
I'm always here to back you up

I can see you’ve been crying
I know what you’re going through
You can’t comprehend just why he's doing this to you
Baby don’t blame yourself now that he's gone
Just doesn't feel the same
You’ve got to carry on
You can’t make someone love you
Just because you want them to
You can’t blame yourself
For what you did or didn’t do
We don't have all the answers
Life remains a mystery
And some things we dream of
Just ain't meant to be
You’re imagine the flower girls
On your wedding day
You thought you had his heart
But his head was miles away
Princess tower dreams
A Castle in the air
All came crashing down
When he left you standing there
You can’t make someone love you
Just because you want them to
You can’t blame yourself
For what you did or didn’t do
We don't have all the answers
Life remains a mystery
And some things we dream of
Just ain't meant to be
You've a good reason to feel hurt
Don’t you go givin’ up now
Love will find it's own way to you
Don't worry just let it go
You can’t make someone love you
Just because you want them to
You can’t blame yourself
For what you did or didn’t do
We don't have all the answers
Life remains a mystery
And some things we dream of
Just ain't meant to be
Some things we dream of
Some things we long for
Some things we dream of
Just ain't meant to be
Mount Everest

He met his Appalachian girl in a summer camp
She became his wife and his best friend
They found a place on earth to settle down
Big skies and green grass all around
They got a couple of kids and a lazy dog hanging out on the porch
And a four-wheel-drive ten year old Dodge
They’r working hard to keep the wheels on turning
Rarely skipping church on Sunday morning
And he was always feeling alright
With some friends and a cold beer at the barbecue on Saturday night
Some people’s dreams ain’t big enough to fail
They never play a leading part in an heroic tale
But to live a life full of love and happiness
You don’t need to climb Mount Everest
Summer came and summer left
And autumn brought another gift
It wasn’t long after the youngest had left home
When the first grandchild came along
Now they spent some more time by the sea
She lent her hand to a charity
And was always feeling fine
When everybody’s coming home at Christmas time
Some people’s dreams ain’t big enough to fail
They never play a leading part in an heroic tale
But to live a life full of love and happiness
You don’t need to climb Mount Everest
When she got sick and needed care
He spoon-fed her and combed her hair
And at the moment she passed away
He whispered sweet nothings in her ear
While his eyes were filling up with tears
Sitting in his rocking chair
Missing his Appalachian girl
One thing he’s really sure about
He will meet her again in a different world
Some people’s dreams ain’t big enough to fail
They never play a leading part in an heroic tale
But to live a life full of love and happiness
You don’t need to climb Mount Everest
Some people’s dreams ain’t big enough to fail
They never play a leading part in an heroic tale
But to live a life full of love and happiness
You don’t need to climb Mount Everest
You don’t have to climb Mount Everest

The vintage plow hasn't been moved for a long time
And it‘s been a while since the meadow's been cut
A smell of gravy's in the air and laundry's on the line
The screen door's creaking and ole Marian shows up
She must have noticed my run-down truck
How is it going aunt Marian
Sorry I've not been here for so long
Time slips away a year seems like a day
What makes you feel there's something wrong.
Aunt Marian
I'm back on Mexican Brown since Joan left home
She took the kids to her mother in LA
Then it happened in a fight that I shot a bouncer down
And ten long years I spent my time in jail
I ain‘t gonna tell her nothing of my fails
How is it going aunt Marian
Sorry I've not been here for so long
Time's slips away a year seems like a day
What makes you feel there's something wrong
Aunt Marian
I remember well those carefree childhood days
Hide and seek games with my cousins in the barn
Marvelous apple pies and the homemade lemonade
Sweet kisses of the girl from the neighbors farm
Marian I ain’t gonna do you any harm
How is it going aunt Marian
Sorry I've not been here for so long
Please do you have some bucks
For a poor guy with bad luck
Just enough to carry on
Please don‘t look so scared at my gun
All I need are some bucks to carry on
Life slips away and year feels like a day
Some shitty bucks to carry on Please Aunt Marian
Come on

Someone is hurt Someone has cried
Someones’s heart is broken and scared
And I know that
I can feel it
I've been through this and I know what it means
When a heart is fading like a guitar chord
In the basement of cloud nine
Someone's in love
Someone's caught in your spell
Somebody's heart is burning like hell
Can you hear it?
Can you feel that?
All that I want is to hold your hand
Baby if you wanna dance
Just give me a sign
I wanna be the music in your life
I'm gonna put the sparkle back in your eyes
I wanna see you smile and swing and twirl again and never cry
I wanna be your fanciest ring tone
I wanna be the song you're humming along
I wanna steal your heart with a tune
And make you mine forever
Something feels new
Something feels good
Something happened that I hoped it would
When you hold me
When you kiss me
Come on take the lead turn up the beat
If you need something more
I'm here waiting for you
I wanna be the music in your life
I'm gonna put the sparkle back in your eyes
I wanna see you smile and swing and twirl again and never cry
I wanna be your fanciest ring tone
I wanna be the song you're humming along
I'm gonna heal your heart with a tune
And make you mine forever
Uuuhuhuhu Aaahahaha
I wanna be the music in your life
I'm wanna put that sparkle back in your eyes
I wanna see you smile and swing and twirl again and never cry
I wanna be your fanciest ring tone
I wanna be the song you're humming along
I'm gonna steal your heart with a tune
And make you mine forever
I'm gonna steal your heart with a tune

Crows calling in the distance
Feathered allies of gloom
Looking forward to a feast
On a bleached-bone afternoon
Let's call it a day the sheriff states
Resigned and shaken to the core
No one knows the name of the girl
The Red River washed ashore
Her padre was a narco
A gambler and a crook
He tried to stiff the wrong guys
And soon was gone for good
Her madre tried to save her
From ending up as a drug-lord's whore
And no one knows the name of the girl
Red River washed ashore
Her mama gave her all her savings
Said girl you need to go north
Go to the land of plenty
And do a rich man‘s chores
She felt drawn to Paris Texas
Said she’d heard of Paris before
No one knows the name of the girl
Red River washed ashore
The man in the truck loved hunting
Made a living in real estate
He really thought it‘s a deer
When he sealed the skinny girl‘s fate
He didn‘t want any trouble
Sank her body didn‘t care anymore
No-one knows the name of the girl
Red River washed ashore
The night falls on Grayson County
And the skies turn to indigo
The crows have fallen asleep
In a moonlight’s mysterious glow
A deer is grazing in the field
Where the gunner made his score
The wind whispers the name of the girl
The Red River washed ashore

You hit me like a bullet in my heart
Right on target threw off my guard
I'm falling but I never hit the ground
Everything 's turning round and round
When you kiss me there's no gravity
Nothing else to hold on to
Other than this beauty in my arms
I'm blown away
You sweep me off my feet
Your sweetness hits me deep
This mole on your cheek
And your Levi's
I'm blown away
By your lips and your smile
Stay with me for a while
I love your country style
And that brightness in your eyes
Seconds turn to hours without you
Since you made my world brand-new
I can't stop starring at my phone
When I'm on my own waiting for your call
Since you kissed me I feel like a junkie
Waitin’ for his next fix
Addicted to the honey of your skin
I'm blown away
You sweep me off my feet
Your sweetness hits me deep
This mole on your cheek
And your Levi's
I'm blown away
By your lips and your smile
Stay with me for a while
I love your country style
And that brightness in your eyes

Lyrics
Back on the road
Some friends took me out on the town
Yeah, I'm doing fine
For the very first time
Since she let me down
Like a worn-out truck
Trash on the dash
Tires flat, out of gas
And stuck in the mud
Now her image is fading like an old Polaroid
I rev the engine up and leave that dust behind
I'm back on the road
Girl I did recover
Life is painted red
Yes I'm back
Looking for another
Heart that I can hold
I’m back on the road
Yeah, I'm back on the road
Yeah I'm ready to roll
I’m in damn good shape
Ever since I escaped
Now it’s all systems go
Locking eyes with a girl on a Friday night
Gonna ask her name and take her for a ride
I'm back on the road
Girl I did recover
Life is painted red
Yes I'm back
Looking for another
Heart that I can hold
I’m back on the road
Yeah, I'm back on the road
Rain stops pouring
Birds start singing again
It's not if, but when
I'm back on the road
Girl I did recover
Life is painted red
Yes I'm back
Looking for another
Heart that I can hold
I’m back on the road
I'm back on the road
Girl I did recover
Life is painted red
Yes I'm back
Looking for another
Heart that I can hold
I’m back on the road
Yeah I'm back on the road
Girl I did recover
(life is painted red yes I'm back)
I’m out to find another
(life is painted red yes I'm back)
heart that I can hold
(life is painted red yes I'm back)
I'm back on the road

Honey in my Head
Her hair like sunlight
On a field of wheat
Eyes filled with wonder
Freckles on her cheeks
Drunk with her beauty
Stoned on her smile
Her smalltown sweetness
Knocks me out for a while
She's like honey in my head
Since the sunny summer day we met
It's raining kisses on her neck
Heaven in my bed - honey in my head
I've never felt like that
Sweet sweet things that she did
Everything is spinning a bit
Around around around around
In my head in my head in my head
She's like honey in my head
Don't need no whisky
To get a buzz like that
To be this happy
I don‘t need Prozac
She makes me dizzy
With her fingertips
An' like a bee to a blossom
I'm addicted to her lips
She's like honey in my head
Since the sunny summer day we met
It's raining kisses on her neck
Heaven in my bed - honey in my head
I've never felt like that
Sweet sweet things that she did
Everything is spinning a bit
Around around around around
In my head, in my head, in my head
She's like honey in my head
I'll never forget our hot rendezvous
And how I discovered her tiny secret tattoo
She's like honey in my head
Since the sunny summer day we met
It's raining kisses on her neck
Heaven in my bed - honey in my head
I've never felt like that
Sweet sweet things that she did
Everything is spinning a bit
Around around around around
She's like honey in my head
Since the sunny summer day we met
It's raining kisses on her neck
'I love you' she said - honey in my head
I've never felt like that
Sweet sweet things that she did
Everything is spinning a bit
Around around around around
In my head in my head in my head
In my head in my head
In my head
She's like honey in my head

Wild horse Rider
She is a little less ballet than rodeo
She's beautiful but it's not like her to show
Grown up in the fields of Arkansas
Raised by brother John and her grandma
More confident than everyone I've met
Hands on her hips daring me a bit
She's nobody's fool, but she's my girl
And sometimes I may be a fool for her
A sexy grin and sunburned skin
A worn-out baseball cap
Working gear and ash blond hair
Yeah - she's like that
My red rose from the cotton fields
She's a little bit off the track
Rough but irresistible
Yeah - she is like that
Never try to tame her
She'll buck you off her back
Like a wild horse rider
Yeah - it feels like that
She's the fastest gun in town and she ain't shy
But a dead bird on the porch will make her cry
She's pretty, she's hot and so damned smart
But best of all she's got a golden heart
A sexy grin and sunburned skin
A worn-out baseball cap
Working gear and ash blond hair
Yeah - she's like that
My red rose from the cotton fields
She's a little bit off the track
Rough but irresistible
Yeah - she is like that
Never try to tame her
She'll buck you off her back
Like a wild horse rider
Yeah - it feels like that
Sometimes she needs a shoulder to lean on
I'm proud she's chosen me to be the one
My red rose from the cotton fields
She's a little bit off the track
Rough but irresistible
Yeah - she is like that
Never try to tame her
She'll buck you off her back
Like a wild horse rider
It feels like that
My red rose from the cotton fields
She's a little bit off the track
Rough but irresistible
Yeah - she is like that
Never try to tame her
She'll buck you off her back
Like a wild horse rider
Yeah - it feels like that

Revel in love devine
Sunday comes blinking through the blinds
I feel your bed-warm skin on mine
Waking up from a strange dream
I realize that all I need
Is you and me underneath these sheets
Last week’s fuss and overtime
Drowned in a bottle of red wine
Made us skip church for today
Instead of blessings from above
We give each other our precious love
We can’t stop the world from turning round
But you and I we have a way to slow it down
We let the demons play outside
Let them burn in the morning light
We take this moment in time
And revel in love divine
And when you tell me with your eyes
Of all the hurt you feel inside
I fly with you up to the stars
And love away all the pain
Until your tears urn to Champagne
We can’t stop the world from turning round
But you and I we have a way to slow it down
We let the demons play outside
Let them burn in the morning light
Take this moment in time
And revel in love divine
When fake and hate get too much for us
I give you mine and you give me your love
And we’re fine for a while
We can’t stop the world from turning round
You and I we have our way to slow it down
Let the demons play outside
Let them burn in morning light
Take this moment in time
And revel in love divine
When we can’t stop this world from turning round
We steal this moment in time
And revel in love divine

Summer 's Gone
The Carolina sky is fading to grey
And the pier on the beach clouded in mist
With tears in her eyes she sighed it's okay
Leaving me with a lump in my throat
And a farewell kiss
When we were walking on cloud nine
I thought the sun would always shine
Now radio 's playin' a rainy day song
And time 's moving on
A northern breeze is blowin' in
Raising goose bumps on my skin
A roosters crowing in the foggy dawn
Sweet summer 's gone
Tanned skin glowing dusky in moonlight
With all my senses drinking her in
Learning all the secrets of a magic night
Caressed by the gentle whisper
Of a southern wind
When we were walking on cloud nine
I thought the sun would always shine
Now radio 's playin' a rainy day song
And time 's moving on
A northern breeze is blowin' in
Raising goose bumps on my skin
A roosters crowing in the foggy dawn
Sweet summer 's gone
Diving so deep and flying so high
It felt so wrong to say goodbye
When we were walking on cloud nine
I thought the sun would always shine
Now radio 's playin' a rainy day song
And time 's moving on
A northern breeze is blowin' in
Raising goose bumps on my skin
A roosters crowing in the foggy dawn
Sweet summer 's gone
And radio 's playin' a last summer song

Hometown
The Greyhound dropped me off
Close to that little dive bar
You could hear the tic-tac bass
And a whining steel guitar
It was here that my daddy washed
The coal dust from his throat
Before he got laid off
And struck down by a stroke
Old brick walls with graffiti
Broken glass and flaking paint
At least that old Chevron station
At the corner still remains
This is where we hung out
Bumming cigarettes and beer
Longing for the glorious day
We finally get out of here
In my hometown
They shut the coil mine down
In my hometown
Faith is losing ground
In my hometown
They used to say life goes on somehow
But it’s sure been a hard way to go
In my hometown
I walked past that weathered for sale sign
Crossed that dust covered floor
Not quite sure why I’m here
And what I’m looking for
I close my eyes and turn back time
Feel the spirit in this place
I almost hear Mama laughing in the backyard
We sure had some good ole days
In my hometown
They shut the coil mines down
In my hometown
Faith is losing ground
In my hometown
We used to say life goes on somehow
Sometimes it’s a hard way to go
In my hometown
I strolled down to the diner
She waited tables now and then
I wondered what it be like
If I met her again
It’s just like I remembered
Those same old vinyl seats
But no one knows my girl
At Laura’s Meat ’n Three
In my hometown
They shut the coil mine down
In my hometown
Faith is losing ground
In my hometown
I used to know a girl with curly hair
And when I dream about her
She still lives here
In my hometown
In my hometown

Craving the Beach
It's been raining for days sky 's grey and dark
Thinking of her is the hardest part
Same bar another buzz since a couple of nights
I'm getting tired of those neon lights
The bartender asks 'What'll it be
Man I need a change of scenery
I'm craving some beach days and a southern breeze
Swinging' in a hammock under coconut trees
A wet 'n wild banana boat ride
Steel drums echoing through the night
Might get my heart some relief
I'm craving the beach
Drinking didn't work I'm still feeling depressed
And go for some help from my therapist
He said no big deal I've got some pills for you
And if you feel bad just take one or two
But drugs get me numb I almost fell asleep
I think he didn't get what I really need
I'm craving some beach days
and a southern breeze
Swinging' in a hammock under coconut trees
A wet 'n wild banana boat ride
Steel drums echoing through the night
Might get my heart some relief
I'm craving the beach
Booze and drugs ain't gonna clear my mind
I've booked an Air B & B and a budget flight
Put my shades and my flip-flops on
It's high time - I‘m off and gone
I'm craving some beach days and a starry sky
A bunch of happy people where the girls ain‘t shy
They hold me tight when we dance all night
Everything 's gonna be alright
All my troubles are out of reach
I'm craving some beach days and a southern breeze
Swingin' in a hammock under coconut trees
A wet 'n wild banana boat ride
Steel drums echoing through the night
Might get my heart some relief
I'm craving the beach
Oh, I'm craving the beach
Oh I need a beach
I need a beach
I'm craving the beach

Zombie
Cigarette smoke hangin' in the air
An empty whisky bottle tipped over on it's side
All the blinds pulled down
A moldy pizza in a box
Old grunge jeans and dirty boots and a blotted Hard Rock shirt
Scattered on the ground
Just another night here on the couch, but that's ok
This house has way to many rooms
When you're not around
Without you
I'm a stranger to myself
Without you
I've been under a bad spell
I'm a soulless husk with a smell of booze
A walking dead, it's the bitter truth
Baby I'm a zombie without you
Baby I know I did you wrong
There's no undo button and I can't turn back the clock
But I swear that I will try
Your name is in my DNA and if you leave
You'll make a monster out of me
Please don't say goodbye
Without you
I'm a stranger to myself
Without you
I've been under a bad spell
I'm a soulless husk with a smell of booze
A walking dead, it's the bitter truth
Baby I'm a zombie without you
I know I should have told you that before
I took too much for granted till you turned around
And slammed that door
Without you
I'm a stranger to myself
Without you
I've been under a bad spell
I'm a soulless husk with a smell of booze
A walking dead, it's the bitter truth
Baby I'm a zombie without you
And only you can save me from the blue

Like A Child
When it calls your name
When it starts singing
You can't pretend like
You didn't hear anything
Innocent and sweet
Iit comes into our life
And you need to take good care of it
So that it grows and thrives
Sometimes it cries
Sometimes it smiles and shines
Sometimes it's running wild
Love is like a child
She took my freedom away
When she knocked on my door
But she made me feel something
I've never felt before
One day she ran away
I know I did her wrong
And I hit rock bottom
It hurt so bad when she was gone
Sometimes it cries
Sometimes it smiles and shines
Sometimes it's running wild
Love is like a child
Keep it warm when it get's cold
With all your heart and soul
Keep it safe at any cost.
Cause if you lose it, you're lost.
Sometimes it cries
Sometimes it smiles and shines
Sometimes it's running wild
Love is like a child
Sometimes it cries
Sometimes it smiles and shines
Sometimes it's running wild
Love is like a child

Jackpot
Have been to Vegas for a dozen times
But never hit a number in my life
Scratched off tickets like a maniac
Desperate to get my slice
Trying to rise above the ordinary
Lady Luck didn't care about me
Till the day that you showed up
Here by my side
And I can't get my head around it yet
But I guess I won the biggest bet of my life
You're my royal flush in a poker game
My name on the wall in a hall of fame
My sideline ticket for the Super Bowl
My hole in one on a par 5 hole
The needle that I found in a haystack
The Triple Crown Trophy at the horse track
My precious pearl
I hit the jackpot with you girl
Now life feels like a paradise preview
And every time when you enter the room
You make me feel like a billionaire
Smelling your perfume
And I can't get my head around it yet
Finding me with you in a bed on a honeymoon
You're my royal flush in a poker game
My name on the wall in a hall of fame
My sideline ticket for the Super Bowl
My hole in one on a par 5 hole
The needle that I found in a haystack
The Triple Crown Trophy at the horse track
A precious pearl
I hit the jackpot with you girl
Baby the sweetest thing in the world is you
hit the jackpot with you girl
You're my royal flush in a poker game
My name on the wall in a hall of fame
My sideline ticket for the Super Bowl
My hole in one on a par 5 hole
The needle that I found in a haystack
The Triple Crown Trophy at the horse track

Beyond Broken Dreams
When dad found that college flyer in her mail
He said forget your thoughts of getting a degree
Honey I'm so sorry we don't have that kind of money
College is an out of reach luxury
Bubbles bursting in the sun
Loosing faith is not much fun
Blue ain't just the color of her jeans
Trapped in this two-lane town
Nowhere to go but down
On the other side the grass looks so green
On this side of beyond broken dreams
She always wanted to be an actress in L.A.
Fate only works if you meet it half way
Oh no she couldn't find courage to let him go
When his blue eyes were begging her to stay
Bubbles bursting in the sun
Loosing faith is not much fun
Blue ain't just the color of her jeans
Trapped in this two-lane town
Nowhere to go but down
On the other side the grass looks so green
On this side of beyond broken dreams
Now she's waiting tables at the local bowling alley
Wearing low cut shirts to get a better tip
The going sure gets tough the money’s barely enough
To cover trade school while raising up her kid
Bubbles bursting in the sun
Loosing faith is not much fun
Blue ain't just the color of her jeans
Trapped in this two-lane town
Nowhere to go but down
On the other side the grass looks so green
On this side of beyond broken dreams
She’s kept her grade average up
And been recommended by the Dean
Soon she’ll will graduate
Beyond broken dreams

Hey Girl
She caught my eye
She caught my heart
When I saw her waiting there for the bus
I was magnetized
And couldn‘t look away
While painting a picture of us
But I was a shy guy
And not a fly-boy 'n those days
Only in my head did I hear myself say
Hey girl
Won't you be my girl
I show you my world
If you show me yours I'll dare to dive in
Don‘t be shy girl
Come on be my girl
If you turn away we‘ll never know what could have been
Hey girl
My heart 's beating wild
When I see her again
Standing in line for a Broadway Show
And it feels like sky diving the first time
When I’m putting my whole heart on the line, saying
Hey girl
Won’t you be my girl
I show you my world
If you show me yours I'll dare to dive in
Don’t be shy girl
Come on be my girl
If you turn away we‘ll never know what could have been
And then she gives me that look and I can’t stop saying again
Hey girl
Won’t you be my girl
I show you my world
If you show me yours I'll dare to dive in
Don’t be shy girl
Come on be my girl
Let’s go to a place we never have been
Be my girl
Hey girl

Last Flight Home
Dancing snowflakes in the headlights
Tired eyes barely find the lane
Another crazy week behind me
Running late to get that plane
I promised to be back on Friday
When we did our routine call
There was a strange note in your voice
I wonder if you care at all
A chilly breeze
Is blowing through my heart
Don‘t let this road
Drive us apart
Don‘t kick me out
Out of your life
I‘m gonna rush to you
To get things right
You sounded different on the phone
I wonder if you're not alone
I have to catch this last flight home
You‘re the one I want to want me
You‘re my safe haven, my hometown
And when things are flying high
The gravity that keeps me down
You‘re my remedy
The drug I‘m addicted to
I can‘t get along
Without you
Don‘t kick me out
Out of your life
I‘m gonna rush to you
To get things right
You sounded different on the phone
I wonder if you're not alone
I have to catch this last flight home
Lost in thoughts of you
I’m running to the gate
Praying to the lord
It’s not too late
Don‘t kick me out
Out of your life
I‘m gonna rush to you
To get things right
You sounded different on the phone
I wonder if you're not alone
I have to catch
This last flight home
You sounded different on the phone
I wonder if you're not alone
I have to catch
This last flight home
This last flight home
